“Sorrow makes us all children again…destroys all differences of intellect.
The wisest know nothing.”
— Ralph Waldo Emerson
My daughter often collected inspiring quotes. Looking through my book, Grief Quest, I came across this quote which particularly resonated with me.
“Sorrow makes us all children again”
Feeling vulnerable, unprotected…disempowered.
We must nurture ourselves as we would our children.
“Destroys all differences of intellect”
All that’s left is the fragility of our emotions.
“The wisest know nothing”
There are no answers. Each of us is left to find out own way.
Our journey is unique, individual…back to a life forever changed.
COPE offers us support in many ways.
In our differences we can find meaning.
In our shared helplessness we can find strength.
We can find hope in helping.
Courage in sharing.
Caring in asking.
Wisdom in seeking.
Peace in believing.
