Parent Column – January 2023

My son

His name is Preston Roy Heikkinen “Roy Boy” we lost him July 8, 2021 horrifically. He was the best boy in the whole world. He was the best big brother the best son that anybody could ever ask for. He never entered a room that he wasn’t singing & bopping around or laughing or just very upbeat. He just brought the happiness to the room. He was born October 3, 1995 and on that day he made me a mom. Since he’s passed we have bumper stickers and everything it says “one day at a time “ because he had a tattoo on his forearm with mountains that said one day at a time. And since he’s been gone that’s the only passage I live by is one day at a time that’s all I can do. Thank you very much for this opportunity to honor him and to tell the world about my son.

My name is Janet Heikkinen and my husband‘s name his dad is Jacob Heikkinen. He had three siblings that he left behind and now has a nephew that he did not get to meet. Again thank you so much for this opportunity. Me and my family appreciate it very much.
