Together – We Shared
A Tribute to My Son, Heath
By Esther Bogin

Together we shared, my son, your first breath on earth at 8:04 p.m. on July 6, 1977.

Together we shared each of your thirty-seven birthdays and a few of your half-birthdays with love, laughter, fun and presents.

Together we shared family holidays, celebrations, the happy and sad times.

Together we shared your Macho-Man dancing, your self-made hair cut, your Jordache Jeans obsession, your weekly trips to Toys ‘R’ Us and your learning to ride a bike as well as drive a car.

Together we shared your first days of school (kindergarten to college), your summers at Camp Wayne, your earning of academic degrees, your internships and paid jobs, and your passing of the CPA and CFA exams.

Together we shared in your building many professional successes while meeting the challenges.

Together we shared your nourishing your special and unique love for Lori and your daughters, Audrey and Reese.

Together we shared your engagement and wedding planning, the birthdays of your baby girls, your running our Rosh Hashanah and Passover dinners and celebrations as well as the impromptu family hanging-out days.

Together we shared your last breathing moment on earth at 11:39 a.m. on March 8, 2015.

Together we continue to share those flashbacks; so many “Heath moments;” reminders of what you would say and do. Today we share moving on to let life unfold making new memories for tomorrow’s past.

Together, my son, we shared so much and for that reason alone I feel blessed and gratitude. For it pains me to think “what if – what if we never shared?” And if we never shared, then where would I be now without you?
