Parent Support Groups

Our support group meetings are facilitated by licensed social workers and run from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. or 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. COPE also offers “Spirituality Groups” for those parents and siblings interested in this type of support. Please check the calendar section of this website for exact meeting dates and locations.

There is no greater support than someone who can also relate and understand the depths of your grief. Oftentimes, the loss of a sibling is overshadowed by the loss of a child, and siblings will sometimes feel alone or forgotten. These losses are different and need to be treated differently.

No one chooses to lose someone they love. And when you do, the journey through grief can be difficult. But you and your teen are not alone. In this group members will explore the impact of grief in their life, have the unique opportunity to embrace hope, enhance self-esteem, and learn that you are not alone.

Summer is around the corner and that means Camp Erin is too. We are busy planning, interviewing and putting together a wonderful weekend of fun and healing. Space is still available, although filling quickly.  Spread the word – we want to help as many children in need as we can. With recent events, children’s stress levels can’t help but be elevated. Camp Erin offers an escape, as they deal with their unimaginable grief journey.

Throughout each month COPE offers special workshops for our members as well as for the healing community, such as clergy and mental health professionals.

Examples of these special events include drama therapy, songwriting, meditation, yoga, Tai Chi, Zumba workshops, talks by authors of books about bereavement, and much more.
